From Fare To Route, New Details About The Air Taxi Service That Takes You From Delhi To Gurugram In Just 7 Mins

Last year, it was announced that air taxis will be making a debut in India around 2026. Recently, a few more details about this venture have come to light. This service will be a result of a collaboration between InterGlobe Enterprises and Archer Aviation, which is a US-based firm. From fare to route, here are all of the important details that you would need to know about this particular Air Taxi service in Delhi.

New Details About Air Taxi Service In Delhi Revealed

According to an article which was recently published by The Economic Times or ET, the planes for the taxi service will cost around $1 billion. They will have as many as 12 rotors. If reports are to go by, they can take you from Gurugram in Haryana to Connaught Place in just seven minutes.

The fare for this trip will be between ₹1,500 to ₹3,000. As per the CEO of Archer Aviation, Adam Goldstein, cited in the ET article, the cost would be ₹1,500; however, according to the executives, it will be anywhere between ₹2,000 and ₹3,000.

The takeoff and landing spots will be set up at Connaught Place and Gurugram. As of now, the process of certification is already at an advanced stage. Officials are aiming to begin services by 2026.

Other Important Concerns About This Particular Project

There are many concerns about the project. While it will be a testament to the technological development in India, many have wondered whether the country has the infrastructure to support such technology.

Another important concern is its utility. ₹1,500 to pay for seven minutes is still out of the question for many people. Hence, the question has to be asked, who is this air taxi for?
