This year in December, the UAE is celebrating its 53rd National Day. And like other emirates, the Emirate of Sharjah is all ready for this exciting event. Offering a wonderful line-up of festivities and entertainment not just for the residents but even the visitors, they will be celebrating the event with a lot of pomp and show. Yes, the Sharjah Union Day celebrations committee recently announced its plan for festivities that will begin on November 21 and go on till December 2. Take a look.
Sharjah Union Day Celebrations Dates Revealed
Marking the important holiday, the Sharjah Union Day Celebrations committee will be showcasing a bunch of activities across the cultural and tourist hotspots of the emirate. The festivities will mark the national holiday and will be running from November 21 to December 2.
A Look At The Events Calendar
Mleiha
The slew of events will kick off with the Mleiha’s festivities. Yes, beginning on November 21 at the Heritage Village, this will include a national march, a theatrical play, competitions, and folklore performances. As reported by the Khaleej Times, it was also mentioned that the event will feature a dedicated Heritage Area with Bedouin Dance, a section for government institutions to present their services, and a free exhibition space for local families where they can showcase their products. As it happens, children will also get access to free play areas, making it a family-friendly atmosphere.
Al Madam
On November 22, the Al Madam will be hosting a bunch of events which will include children’s activities, heritage performances, poetry sessions, and fireworks in the evening.
Khorfakkan
Coinciding with this is the celebrations in Khorfakkan. This will be happening from November 22 to 24. Happening at the outdoor plaza of the Khorfakkan Amphitheater, the event list includes art workshops, children’s activities, and traditional performances. While the event will begin with the national anthem, this will be followed by school performances and poetry recital.
Dibba Al Hasan
There are also events planned for Dibba Al Hasan, which will be taking place on November 23. This will begin with the public March at 4 PM, which will be followed by folklore performances, Maghrib prayer, poetry, and a military segment.
Wadi Al Helo
For November 24, the Wadi Al Helo will be hosting a day of festivities. Yes, this will feature folklore performances, poetry sessions, and even award ceremonies that will bring together tradition and creativity.
Al Dhaid City
The Al Dhaid City will be hosting a national march on November 27. This will begin at the Grand Mosque and go up to the Al Dhaid Fort. While from November 28 to December 1, the city will celebrate with vibrant folklore performances!
Al Hamriyah
At Al Hamriyah, the celebrations will be happening on November 27 and 28. And it will include a national anthem in the park followed by a march, folk songs, interactive workshops for children, a poetry recital, a video commemorating the 53rd National Day, interactive workshops, a sports competition, and an entertainment session for senior citizens. All of these things are at the Al Hamriyah Beach Park & Creek.
Al Bateh
At the Al Bateh, the events will be happening from November 28-30 where a massive focus will be given on heritage, national identity, and loyalty to the nation. The programme includes traditional folk parades, horse and classic car parades, and folklore performances.
Charity Musical Event Planned
Besides the above-mentioned events, a Charity Musical Event has also been planned at Khorfakkan Amphitheater. Yes, the proceeds of the event will go to The Big Heart Foundation, which supports children and vulnerable families around the world.
