Karnataka’s favourite coastal destination Mangaluru will host a two-day multicultural festival on December 3 and 4. This festival will commemorate 50 years of Karnataka’s statehood. Bengalureans, bookmark your calendars and head to Mangaluru for a quick celebration. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah will inaugurate the event which will witness delicious food, folk dance performances, paintings and even sculptures from across the state.

Multicultural Event In Mangaluru To Celebrate 50 Years Of Karnataka’s Statehood

As per a report by CNBCTV18, Dakshina Kannada Deputy Commissioner MP Mullai Muhilan threw more live on Mangaluru’s multicultural event happening on December 3 and 4. The minister stated this festival is a joint effort by different communities in the state like Beary, Konkani, Tulu, Kodava and Arebhashe (Gowda). Yakshagana and other folk academies will also contribute to this festival.

The multicultural festival in Mangaluru to celebrate Karnataka’s 50 years of statehood is organised with the support of different district administrations. This includes the Department of Kannada and Culture, Udupi, Madikeri and Dakshina Kannada as well. To celebrate the state’s rich cultural diversity, this event brings together a diverse array of regional, books, paintings and sculptures.

Food Festival, Book Exhibitions, Painting & Sculpture Display And More

Guests can witness performances from seven cultural academies. A food festival called ‘Aahara Utsava’ promises to take foodies on a culinary ride across Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, Madikeri and other regional cuisines of Karnataka. Speaker UT Khader will lead a multicultural procession at 9 AM on December 3. This procession commences from Ambedkar Circle and then proceeds towards Town Hall.

Then at 11 AM in Town Hall, Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar and Health Minister Dinesh Gundu Rao will formally inaugurate the festival. Apart from this festival, the Karnataka Minister spoke about a tourist attraction in Mangaluru. He shared that Pilikula Nisargadham will undergo a major transformation in the coming months to turn into a world-class destination.

The ample space in Pilikula Wildlife Sanctuary makes it an ideal destination to eventually become an international-level attraction. This is a large zoo with park-like enclosures. Visitors can witness animals and even explore botanical gardens there. In the evenings, it becomes a perfect place to go boating.
