Delhi Metro commuters, this update might bring major relief. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is planning to launch an ‘integrated last-mile connectivity’ service from 10 metro stations. With this service, commuters will be able to instantly book bike taxis, auto rickshaws, and cabs with just a click. Here’s everything you need to know.
Delhi Metro Plans Last Mile Connectivity From 10 Stations
From January 31, DMRC, in association with a cooperative society, will provide last-mile connectivity from 10 metro stations. According to a report by The Times of India, these stations are located near major market hubs. DMRC has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Sahkar Taxi Cooperative Ltd (STCL), a multi-state cooperative society and mobility service provider operating Bharat Taxi.
Under this initiative, Sahkar Taxi will operate bike taxis, auto rickshaws, and cab services on a marketplace model. The Bharat Taxi mobile application, available on Android and iOS, will be integrated with the DMRC Sarthi application. This will allow passengers to plan, book, and access last-mile services in a single journey flow. No more waiting outside metro stations.

Pilot Phase To Begin From January 31
According to a report by Times Now, the system will also eliminate the need to rely on unorganised transport options. Commuters will receive accurate fare estimates before booking, helping them avoid high prices. The system also promises better fare transparency. The pilot phase is set to begin on January 31, 2026. These metro stations might be covered in the pilot phase:
- Millennium City Centre (Gurugram)
- Botanical Garden (Noida)
- Lajpat Nagar
- Rajiv Chowk
- New Delhi
- Nehru Place
- Vaishali
- Sikandarpur
- Hauz Khas
- Kashmere Gate
DMRC officials will assess commuter response, service efficiency, and traffic impact during the first phase. If successful, the service will be expanded to more identified stations.

This is a great move by Delhi Metro. Finding cabs and auto rickshaws outside metro stations is likely to become much easier. If all goes as planned, commuters may no longer have to pay high fares for just 10-minute journeys.
