It is home to the world’s tallest statue, the Statue of Unity, as well as a rich cultural and gastronomic tradition. Ahmedabad has gained in popularity among Indian tourists, and this year it has grown even more as the city hosts this year’s main sporting event, the 2023 Cricket World Cup.
The New Horizons list is dominated by picturesque natural locations; Kodaikanal has increased by 35%, while hill stations Mahabaleshwar and Ooty have increased by 22% and 21%, respectively. Interest in Kodaikanal’s pristine natural beauty and tranquil atmosphere has noticeably increased, and Mahabaleshwar and Ooty are drawing attention for their unique features as well, from Ooty’s charming colonial-era atmosphere and tea plantations to Mahabaleshwar’s expansive hill vistas.
