1. Dubai’s Bus Network Gets A Strategic Upgrade
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced changes to 14 bus routes, effective from Friday, May 2. These updates aim to improve efficiency, reduce travel time, and ensure smoother connectivity across the emirate.
Key route changes include:
- Route 17 will now end at Baniyas Square Metro Station instead of Al Sabkha Bus Station.
- Route 24 has been redirected within the Al Nahda 1 area.
- Route 44 will now pass through Al Rebat Street to serve Dubai Festival City.
- Route 56 has been extended to reach the DWC Staff Village.
- Routes 66 and 67 will now stop at Al Ruwayah Farm.
- Route 32C will operate fewer services between Al Jafiliya and Al Satwa. Commuters heading to Al Satwa are advised to use Route F27.
- The bus stop for Route C26 has moved from Al Jafiliya Bus Station to Max Metro Land Side Bus Stop 2.
- Route E16 will now terminate at Union Bus Station.
- Route F12 has been shortened between Al Satwa Roundabout and Al Wasl Park and will now operate via Kuwait Street.
- Routes F27 and X92 have also seen bus stop relocations to Max Metro Landside.
- Route F47 has a new path within the Jebel Ali Industrial Area.
- Route F54 now extends to JAFZA South labour camp.
Commuters are encouraged to check the updated routes before travelling.
2. Children Aged 12 & Under Now Enter Free At Global Village
Global Village has introduced a new promotional offer allowing children aged 12 and below to enjoy free entry until the end of Season 29 on 11 May 2025.
Previously, complimentary entry was limited to children under 3, senior citizens over 65, and People of Determination (POD). The updated policy was announced via the official Global Village account on the platform X. Families are advised to take advantage of this offer while the season lasts.
3. Kuwait Records The World’s Highest Temperature This Week
Kuwait has recorded a temperature of 49 degrees Celsius at the Mataraba weather station, marking the highest globally this week.
Experts have highlighted the pressing need for climate-conscious urban planning. Meteorologists recommend increasing green spaces to help counteract rising temperatures, especially as heatwaves become more frequent across the region.
4. Dubai Recognised As Autism-Friendly Destination

5. Oman Introduces New Employment Requirement for Foreign Investors
The Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Investment Promotion in Oman has issued a new directive requiring all foreign investors to employ at least one Omani citizen within one year of commencing operations.
Additionally, the hired Omani employee must be registered with the General Authority for Social Insurance. This move aligns with Oman’s broader Omanisation policy, which aims to boost local employment in the private sector.
