Anyone who travels using public transport in Dubai knows the importance of nol cards. And it’s no secret that topping up the nol cards at the vending machines makes life a lot easier. However, the Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) announced recently that the top-up amount for the nol cards through vending machines is set to increase from March 1. Here is more on this development.
Minimum nol Card Top-Up Set At AED20
Come March 1, the minimum top-up amount for the nol card through vending machines will increase to AED20. Previously, this was AED5 and now, there has been an increase by the amount of AED15. The minimum top-up amount, however, differs on the basis of where you are recharging your card. Yes, if you recharge your card at the metro station ticket office, then the minimum amount is AED50.
The nol card makes it quite easy to pay for transportation and commuting along around the city. In fact, it was just last year when the Dubai RTA announced that residents can get around Dubai on its accredited e-scooters with the help of their nol cards and to pay for the same.

Coming back to the nol top-up process, this can be done through five ways. Yes, you can either top up the amount at the metro station, through the Dubai RTA apps, the RTA website, the Dubai Now app, or even solar top-up machines.
