Yes, as revealed in a report of Khaleej Times, UAE citizens who have a valid US visa, will get expedited entry into the country soon.
UAE Citizens To Get Expedited Entry Into USA
The brilliant development for travellers comes after the UAE and the US signed an agreement to include the country in the global entry programme. As a result, it has made cross-border travelling for emiratis easier! The programme, which is said to be implemented from October 1, 2024, will allow UAE citizens who have valid US visas an expedited entry into the country. For those who are not aware, global entry is an initiative that allows quicker entry procedures into the US ports of entry. It helps in faster entry for travellers while enhancing security.
They Must Have A Valid US Visa
So, as travellers arrive, they can immediately check-in at the global entry kiosk at a US Customs and Border Protection Preclearance facility, they get to avoid long lines and additional paperwork. In fact, global entry participants, however, should still have a valid US visa in order to enter the country. As a part of launching the cooperative process, the government of both countries will develop and finalise criteria. Yes, this will in turn lead to the full participation of the UAE in the global entry programme. So, once the programme is finalised, it will allow Emirati citizens who are eligible to enter the US using the global entry system at 75 airports in the US and other countries.
US To Offer Visa-Free Entry To Qataris
However, this is the only visa development from the US regarding the Gulf countries. Recently, it was unveiled that the US Department of Homeland Security and Department of State mentioned that Qatar citizens will soon get to travel visa-free for up to 90 days from December 1 onwards. In its statement, it was mentioned that Qatar would become the first country from the region to be admitted to the US Visa Waiver Programme. As it happens, this was done as Doha met the security requirement for joining the programme. In fact, Qatar is open to US citizens for visa-free travel from October 1 onwards.
