Brace yourself, travellers, Dubai International Airport (DXB) is about to get BUSY. With over 2.5 million passengers expected between February 20 and 28, the airport is prepping for a travel surge ahead of Ramadan. That’s an average of 280,000 passengers daily, which means long lines, buzzing terminals, and a whole lot of luggage. What’s causing this travel rush? Well, global events like the ICC Champions Trophy, Dubai Duty-Free Tennis Championships, and the Spinneys Dubai 92 Cycle Challenge are pulling in crowds. Plus, half-term school holidays in key markets mean families are jetting off for a quick break.

Good news for Dubai’s public transport users, RTA has launched a new bus station near the Stadium Metro Station. This addition is set to make life easier for those travelling to and from Al Nahda and Al Qusais, offering better connectivity and shorter commute times. The Stadium Bus Station is built for efficiency, linking passengers to multiple bus routes with 10 designated stops. Whether you’re a daily commuter or just an occasional bus rider, this upgrade means smoother journeys and fewer delays.
So, if you’re looking to cut down on travel time and avoid the hassle of driving, this station might just be your new best friend.

No words, no plot, just pure, electrifying energy. That’s what STOMP is all about, and it’s finally coming to Dubai for the first time this May. If you’ve never seen STOMP before, think of it as a musical experience that turns everyday objects into instruments. Brooms, trash cans, even kitchen sinks—nothing is off-limits. It’s a mix of theatre, dance, and percussion, and it’s captivated audiences worldwide. The show runs for three days only from May 29 to 31, 2025, at Dubai Opera. Whether you’re a music lover, a theatre fan, or just someone who enjoys a good spectacle, this is one performance you don’t want to miss.
4. Passenger Dies Mid-Air, Couple Endures A Nightmare Flight
A couple on a Qatar Airways flight from Melbourne to Doha had their journey take an unexpected, tragic turn when a fellow passenger collapsed and died mid-air. Despite the crew’s best efforts, the passenger couldn’t be revived, leaving them in a difficult situation, where to place the body. The tight aisles made it impossible to move the deceased to another cabin, so the crew had to make a tough call: they placed the body in the same row as two other passengers. Mitchell Ring and Jennifer Colin, the couple in that row, were left in shock as they spent the rest of the flight sitting next to a deceased person. Understandably, they were deeply disturbed by the experience, and the incident has sparked discussions about how airlines should handle such emergencies.
5. Abu Dhabi Airports Reports Major Passenger Growth

Abu Dhabi’s airports just had a record-breaking year! In 2024, Abu Dhabi Airports handled 29.4 million passengers, a 28.1% increase from 2023. What’s behind this boom? More routes, better partnerships, and an improved passenger experience. The newly named Zayed International Airport (AUH) played a big role, expanding its network to 125 destinations with 29 new routes. With this growth, Abu Dhabi is solidifying its position as a major global aviation hub. If you haven’t flown through AUH recently, expect more destinations, smoother connections, and an upgraded travel experience.
