From Rain Dance To Live Music, This Monsoon Festival At Corbyn’s Cove Beach In Port Blair Is Fab!

The beach in Port Blair is adorned with wildflowers and gorgeous showpieces made of coconut shells and corals. Read on to know what’s in store at the festival.

Corbyn’s Cove Beach On Andaman & Nicobar Islands Is Having A Fun Monsoon Festival

Port Blair, the capital city of Andaman & Nicobar Islands is hosting a Monsoon Festival. The 2-day festival is happening on July 15-16 where visitors will get the chance to gorge exotic coastal dishes and even groove to live music. And that’s not all, there’s a unique rain dance competition happening at Corbyn’s Cove beach. This is around 6 km away from Port Blair.

As per a report by Hindustan Times, the Director Tourism Department of the Union Territory, Jatinder Sohal, threw more light on the Monsoon Festival. He revealed that they are organising this festival in association with their administration and other stakeholders. Tourists and visitors have a plethora of events lined up for them starting from 4 pm till 9 pm, stated Jatinder Sohal.

Rain Dance, Rain Photography Competitions & More!

He goes on to add that at the Monsoon Festival, revellers can dance the night away during rain dance competitions. There will also be a rain photography competition. Jatinder Sohal goes on to add that the winners of these competitions shall be determined based on their choreography, creativity and their movements. Moreover, their work will grace their social media handles. The department will award participants based on the number of likes their work garners on social media.

Live music, recorded soundtracks and percussionists will keep the party going and uplift the mood of the performers and the audience. The transport department has also arranged transport to Corbyn’s Cove Beach for convenience’s sake.

When it comes to the rain photography competition, participants need to submit their photos clicked around rain themes. Open to both professional and amateur photographers, this event needs participants to submit their photos in digital format. For which the three best entries will get cash prizes as awards.
