Sandalwood sticks or chandan is a piece of wood from the trunk of a sandalwood tree which is considered a sacred thing by Hindus. Here you will come across sandalwood pastes like Mailkota, Shri Chandan, Ramraj, Jankiraj, and Gopiraj chandans. You can find it near the lanes of the Saryu River, which is quite easy to navigate and starts at ₹200/kg.

2. Carved Marble Idols

Ayodhya has many temples and you will find many idols of gods and goddesses like Ram and Sita to take home to your temples. They come in various sizes and can be made out of wood or marble. You will easily get your hands on this at lanes near Ram Ki Paidi, Ram Janmabhoomi or Hanumangarhi temple.
