Music transcends all barriers like language and borders! And to celebrate melodies across borders, the ASEAN India Music Festival is returning to Delhi this November. Bringing together musical talents from across Southeast Asia and India, this cross-cultural extravaganza will take place at the iconic Purana Qila. Read on to know all the details about it.
ASEAN India Music Fest To Begin In November In Delhi
The third edition of the ASEAN India Music Festival is all set to take place in Delhi from November 29 to December 1, 2024. Organised by the Ministry of External Affairs and Seher, the event will bring together bands and music artists from ASEAN countries and India to perform at Purana Qila.
The first edition of the festival took place in 2017 to commemorate 25 years of ASEAN-India relations. The second edition was also held in Delhi in 2022 and provided a platform for artists to display their musical heritage. This edition of the ASEAN India Music Festival will celebrate 10 years of India’s ‘Act East Policy’. Furthermore, it aims to promote cultural exchange and appreciation for music among ASEAN countries including the Philippines, Brunei, Cambodia, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Talking about the upcoming festival, Sanjeev Bhargava, Founder Director of Seher, said, “The third edition of the ASEAN India Music Festival is a celebration of a decade of India’s ‘Act East Policy.’ The festival brings together diverse musical traditions and promotes a deeper cultural bond between India and ASEAN. With new initiatives like international performances and educational collaborations, we aim to take the cultural exchange to a new level.”
He further added, “The new addition to this 3rd edition of ASEAN – India Music Festival is a one-day music extravaganza in Bangkok, Thailand, one of the ASEAN member states.”

All You Need To Know About This Upcoming Festival
The ASEAN India Music Festival will see exciting performances by talented Indian artists like Shaan, Jasleen Royal, Sukriti Prakriti, and Raghu Dixit, among others. Following the main event in Delhi, the festival will continue its journey to Bangkok and Thailand to enhance the cultural connections between India and ASEAN countries. More details about ASEAN bands performing in the event are awaited.
India’s Minister of External Affairs, S Jaishankar, will be attending the event as the chief guest along with senior officials of the Ministry of External Affairs and the Heads of Missions from all 10 ASEAN Member States.
