2023 New York Wine And Spirits Competition

The New York World Wine and Spirits Competition is not merely a gathering of experts. It serves as a melting pot of cultures and traditions, where winemakers, distillers, and connoisseurs come together.  The diversity of the competition is striking. There are entries spanning a wide range of categories, from red and white wines to aged whiskies, tequilas, vodkas, and liqueurs. This diversity mirrors the ever-evolving and dynamic landscape of the beverage industry. There are new trends emerging while traditional classics continue to shine.

In winning the “Best Bourbon” prize was the Sherry Cask Finish Bourbon, 15 Stars based out of Bardstown, Kentucky. The 57.5% ABV bottle of the limited release originally sold for $179. It is made up of a mixture of pure bourbons that are 10–13 years old. Additionally, as it opens up in the glass, a cherry cola-like scent is released. Cinnamon, raisins, and plum are all in competition for flavour on the taste.

Ardbeg 25 won the best scotch whisky. See what makes this legendary Islay single malt so spectacular. The palate is all about lemon, burnt sugar, cream, and fudge, with smouldering earth and sticky tar to ponder in the nose.  This $1,000 bottle of Ardbeg 25 is considered an investment. Moreover, the accolades given at the 2023 New York World Wine & Spirits Competition strengthen this claim.
