According to a recent report by Khaleej Times, it was revealed that from today onwards, UAE residents will not be able to share their Netflix password with their loved ones outside their homes! This comes after the renowned streaming giant has been restricting password-sharing worldwide. As a result, it has now officially reached the UAE and according to a confirmation by the service representative in the same report, it was revealed that this restriction takes effect today.

So, this means that you can only share your password with the members who are living in the same house as you. And, if someone uses the same password in the house that is across the street, they won’t be able to stream the movies or series on the platform. However, if you are wondering how the streaming giant is able to detect and restrict password sharing, it was revealed that Netflix uses a Wi-Fi network and IP addresses of the devices to take note of this. As it happens, Netflix also announced that password sharing has also ended in India from today according to reports from ANI! So, Netflix is sending emails to customers who are found to be sharing that accounts with other people outside their houses in India.

So, if you are someone who shares your account with your loved ones or are someone who shares your friend’s account, then you will no longer be able to do so with this new restriction in place.
