Every year comes with something new and fascinating and we are very excited to share the interesting travel trends that are going to be a major hit among globetrotters. Expedia Group released the Unpack ’24 on November 8 which guides us to know what’s about to happen and be trending in 2024. From focusing on loved destinations to some new terms for travelling, Unpack ’24 shared some valuable data. This also includes a survey of 20,000 travel enthusiasts. Some new travel terms have come up that signify some amazing and one-of-a-kind travel experiences.

You might have come across news of global artists and their impact on the travel industry. The biggest example is Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour and Beyonce’s Renaissance Tour. Fans flew from their home to another city to witness the concerts. It has had a major impact on boosting the travel sector. Expedia is expecting that the same kind of tourism is about to continue the next year as well. The survey pointed out how almost 70 per cent of respondents wish to attend a concert in a new city. Interestingly, 40 per cent said that they would love to go to a concert in a new city just to explore the destination.

2. Dry Tripping

Travel enthusiasts do not need any memorable reasons but just need some days off for a holiday. Globetrotters are on the lookout for any chance to pack their bags and leave for a new destination. And occasions like birthdays, anniversaries, and date-iversaries are perfect for planning a trip in 2024. Interestingly, people are also ready to celebrate work milestones such as getting a job or getting promoted to enjoy a vacation.

4. Destination Dupes

Are you tired of visiting all those destinations that you see people exploring all the time? Not only these places are full of crowds and tourists but cost a bomb as well. The next year is going to be a lot about finding places that are dupes of popular destinations and are not affecting the pockets too. The dupe for London is Liverpool and Paros is the dupe for Santorini.

5. Set-jetting

Expedia forecasted that tourists would take these movies and shows as an inspiration for travelling the world. It has been some time since travellers are following this and it is about to continue in the next year too. Over 50 per cent of respondents revealed how movies and shows influenced them to research destinations and book holidays.
