The G20 summit in Delhi is going to be the eighteenth meeting of the member nations and is scheduled to take place at Pragati Maidan’s IECC (International Exhibition-Convention Centre). Since G20 is a high-profile meeting, several restrictions are imposed within Delhi and one of them is online deliveries from Amazon, Zomato, etc.

The Delhi Police has made it clear that no commercial deliveries, including those from Amazon, will be permitted in New Delhi during the G20 Summit because the New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has suspended all commercial services during that time.

According to SS Yadav, Special Commissioner of Police (Traffic), they had issued a traffic advisory on August 25 and there is no change in it. However, there is a clarification over essential services. Though all essential services are allowed, any commercial deliveries from Amazon, Zomato or cloud kitchens won’t be allowed in the city.

He even clarified that there might be delays in deliveries due to security restrictions but they will be allowed to enter. All necessary services will be permitted. Vehicles for hotels, hospitals, and other significant installations in the New Delhi District that are involved in housekeeping, catering, trash disposal, etc. will be permitted following verification.

On the three days of limitation for the G20 Summit, all pharmacies, grocery stores, milk booths, and vegetable/fruit shops will be open across Delhi, including New Delhi. On September 9 and 10, 2023, the G-20 Summit will be held in Bharat Mandapam at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi. However, starting on September 7 there will be traffic restrictions in place due to the delegates’ presence.

Besides this, there are several traffic regulations that people will have to follow. Additionally, many Delhi Metro gates that open towards the venue route will remain shut. During this time, the metro stations at Moti Bagh, Bhikaji Cama Place, Munirka, RK Puram, IIT, and Sadar Bazar Cantonment will be closed.

The New Delhi district’s regulated area would have no theatre or dining establishments open. Certain hotels, like the Maurya Sheraton, Lodhi Hotel, and Hyatt, which are outside the NDMC area and will operate regularly, will host certain heads of state.
