Starting on September 5, toll-free journeys are commencing on the Public Works Department and Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation highways. The recent announcement will remain effective till September 19, 2024. The state government made this significant announcement ahead of the world-famous Ganeshotsav celebrations in different parts of Maharashtra.

There are several steps to follow to apply for a toll-free pass. A Public Works Department official stated that it is compulsory to download a self-declaration proforma from the government’s official website. Next, one needs to fill out the form and paste it on thick black paper, according to a report by The Times of India. Lastly, all the drivers need to paste this on the FasTag sticker outside the vehicles so that the RFID reader can easily skip scanning.

For all Maharashtra State Road Development Corporation buses, exemption passes will be issued with necessary information such as the name of the driver and vehicle number. Motorists need to fill out a self-declaration form and paste black paper on FasTag stickers for toll exemption on highways in Maharashtra. However, it may be unlikely to produce accurate results due to this step and tolls may get deducted.
