Gary Mehigan Is Relishing ‘Proper’ Dosa The Rameshwaram Cafe

The former MasterChef judge, Gary Mehigan, has a special connection with India and its food. He recently shared a video where you could see many of Bengaluru’s special dishes. The caption stated that he had a ‘proper’ dosa in Bengaluru’s The Rameshwaram Cafe. According to it, the chef was having ragi dosa, ghee roast dosa, medu vada, ghee idli podi, kesari baath and classic filter coffee. He further wrote that he will be back!

The video featured every dish mentioned and that had people drooling for some! Just before sharing this post, the chef had shared an Instagram story which told that he was coming to Bengaluru. The next one was when he took a ride in an auto-rickshaw.

Earlier, he had shared a post of making the Bombay-style red chutney. His post included videos where he soaked Kashmiri red chillies to make them plump, according to the first video. Then, using a few things he listed in the caption, he grinds the soaking chiles. Gary Mehigan said that he removed all the seeds so that it tasted spicy but not overly so before pulverising everything into a thick mixture.

In the last video, vibrant red chilli paste was presented in a tiny bowl. The famous chef said that he would add some mayonnaise and kewpie to make it “really luscious” in the message that is attached to the post.

Podi Idli, Dosa & More!

The capital city of Karnataka is known for its pillowy idlis, aromatic filter coffee, and golden dosas. Nonetheless, the increasing demand for South Indian breakfast has created space for several new businesses to enter the market.

The crowd of hungry customers makes it easy to identify the Rameshwaram Cafe. Some are seated on the sidewalk with plates of open butter masala dosa and ghee podi idli, while others are waiting in lengthy lines. The provision of quick service enables these places to cater to a wide clientele, as it is not a top concern. Rameshwaram Cafe is included in this group. Its location, affordable rates, and flexible schedules are its strong points.

With top-notch, freshly-sourced food and stringent sanitary protocols, the cafe elevates its offerings. It says that all of its locations have the same flavour and quality. This restaurant is able to maintain quality because of its small menu. The Ghee Sambar Button Idli, Ven Pongal, Vada, Akki Roti, Gongura Rice, Ghee Podi Idlis, Ghee Thatte Idli, Ghee Podi Masala Dosa, and Garlic Roast Dosa are among the standouts.
