What could calm you and make you feel good more than a great conversation? Probably nothing. With that exact expectation, Curly Tales started 2023 with a Sunday Brunch, hosted by our Editor-in-Chief, Kamiya Jani, in conversation with Guruji Gaur Gopal Das.
Exceptionally known for his practical wisdom and positive outlook towards life, Gaur Gopal Das had a delicious brunch and an insightful conversation with us.
Gaur Gopal Das Speaks About Self-Care
What started as a light conversation about routines and modern problems of the modern world soon turned more impactful and interesting. He managed to empower us with positivity and hope in the most pleasant way possible.
He was asked about how one should go about handling their life, relationships, ambitions, and themselves all at the same time. In response, he asserted that the two things he never compromises on are self-care and his connection to his spiritual self. He further explained that if we neglect our own needs in favour of our jobs, and families, or fulfil everybody’s expectations, we will surely end up exhausting ourselves.
He focused on prioritising me-time, having a part of every day where we do nothing, relax, be with our own thoughts, and give our minds and souls what they need.

A Reminder To Stay Connected To Our Human Nature
To keep ourselves fueled and capable of being efficient all our lives, we must all take care of ourselves instead of burning ourselves out. He stressed the fact that those who are not happy themselves can hardly keep others happy. Taking care of our own stability is how we take care of our loved ones best.
There is no denying that we all have responsibilities and a lot to do. There is always something that needs our attention. However, it mustn’t lead us to neglect our own improvement.
Gaur Gopal Das answered every question with utmost honesty and candour.
When prompted with a question about dealing with anger or irritability, he reminded us to never forget that we are all humans and that these emotions are a part of our nature. To stress ourselves about being angry or cranky or to feel guilty about those things would be unjust. Instead of being hard on ourselves for feeling those emotions, we should look back and inspire ourselves to handle it better the next time. Guruji said that the first step towards positive transformation is to be vulnerable to our emotions.
The whole conversation with Gaur Gopal Das was full of learnings that we can all imbibe in our lives.
