Celebrity MasterChef India 2025 ended on a sweet note with Anupamaa actor Gaurav Khanna winning the coveted trophy. Nikki Tambola and Tejasswi Prakash were crowned first and second runners-up, respectively. To celebrate his big win, Khanna and his wife, Akanksha, headed to the award-winning vegetarian restaurant, Avatara, helmed by Michelin-starred chef Rahul Rana.
Gaurav Khanna & Wife Ankanksha Dine At Avatara In Mumbai
From an actor to a home cook to now a Celebrity MasterChef India winner, Gaurav Khanna has added cooking to his already illustrious portfolio. The actor who started his journey on the reality cooking show on a wobbly note (having fed unedible brinjal to the judges), channelised his “zidd” (stubbornness) to learn the ropes of cooking and bag the trophy.
His finale dish, an ode to South Indian cuisine and a beautifully delicate dessert, impressed judges Vikas Khanna, Ranveer Brar and Farah Khan. Another finale week challenge involved recreating Chef Rahul Rana’s complex vegetarian dish, Shadras. It symbolised six core tastes— salt, sour, astringent, pungent, bitter and sweet. Gaurav, having embraced vegetarianism five to six years ago, couldn’t find a better place to celebrate his win than Avatara in Mumbai.
The actor shared a lighthearted reel at the restaurant with Chef Rahul, Akanksha behind the camera. Gaurav revealed that he was invited to Avatara by the Michelin-starred chef, whom he met on the show. In his candid style, the actor declared that instead of cooking, this time, he will feast at Avatara.

Chef Rahul Rana thanked Gaurav for his kind words. He said that it’s high time Gaurav should get used to people calling him “chef”. Ankanksha joked that it’s time her husband prepares food for her, too. Hearing these words, the actor scooted in jest. Avatara draws inspiration from Ayurveda. At this world-renowned restaurant, you won’t be served paneer or mushrooms. Chef Rahul Rana has celebrated vegetarian cooking in the most elegant yet inventive manner.
