Bundestag has passed the new system of eliminating the use of physical passports for children falling under the age group of 12 years, according to a report by SchengenVisaInfo.com. It is said that the expectations are to implement this new move by the beginning of the upcoming year. Parents can now apply for the passports of their kids. According to the present rules, the validity of passports for children under 12 years is one year. This specifies that the passport needs to be renewed every year. The process is about to get more convenient with the introduction of the new measure.

The process of passport applications is about to change a bit starting in 2024. Families who are going to travel overseas will have to apply for biometric passports for kids under 12 years. This document’s validity will be much longer than the present passports.
