Travellers from Noida and Ghaziabad should be cautious when arranging visas or tickets through local travel agents. As of June 2024, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has received 33 complaints about fake visas issued by travel agents in these areas. The Bureau of Immigration discovered that these visas were fraudulent during airport checks, leading to the arrest of the passengers involved.
Fake Travel Agents In Noida And Ghaziabad
The MEA has identified 39 travel agencies and agents operating in Noida and Ghaziabad who are engaged in these illegal activities. These agents lure people with promises of overseas job opportunities. They then charge high fees for the supposed services. However, instead of providing genuine visas, they issue fake documents. When these passengers attempt to travel, airport authorities identify the fraud, resulting in immediate arrests.
This alarming situation has led the Ministry to take strong action. To prevent further scams, the MEA has published a list of these fraudulent agents on the eMigrate portal. The list includes nine agents from Ghaziabad and 30 from Noida.
