Global Peace Index For 2025 Has Been Revealed & Here’s Where The GCC Nations Stand

Recently, the Global Peace Index for 2025 was revealed. As it happens, Iceland took the top position in the ranking with a score of 1.095. This is the 19th edition of the Peace Index rankings, and it has ranked 163 independent states and territories. Here’s where the GCC nations stood on the latest list.

GCC Nations In The Global Peace Index

According to the Global Peace Index rankings result for 2025, the average level of a country’s peacefulness has deteriorated by 0.36%. In fact, this is the sixth consecutive year that global peacefulness has deteriorated. If you are also wondering where GCC nations stood, then we are here to lay it down for you. Qatar has the highest GPI score with 1.593, ranking in 27th place. It is followed by Kuwait at the 31st rank with a score of 1.642 and then by Oman at the 42nd rank with a score of 1.738. The United Arab Emirates follows behind at the 52nd rank with a score of 1.812. Meanwhile, Saudi Arabia stood at the 19th rank with a score of 2.035, and Bahrain stood at the 100th rank with a score of 2.099.

With the rankings for GCC countries laid out for you, it’s time to shed light on the most peaceful countries that have made it to the top 10. And they are as follows:

  1. Iceland
  2. Ireland
  3. New Zealand
  4. Austria
  5. Switzerland
  6. Singapore
  7. Portugal
  8. Denmark
  9. Slovenia
  10. Finland

From the rankings given above, it should be noted that Iceland has retained its position at the top, and so has Ireland in second place. Talking about the least peaceful countries that stood at the bottom, they are as follows:

  1. Mali
  2. Israel
  3. South Sudan
  4. Syria
  5. Afghanistan
  6. Yemen
  7. Democratic Republic of the Congo
  8. Sudan
  9. Ukraine
  10. Russia

At this point, it’s worth mentioning that several countries in the Middle East stood in the bottom zone of the rankings. Finally, on a concluding note, it’s important to note that 23 indicators were considered for making this list
