For Indian travellers, getting a Schengen visa can sometimes feel like the most stressful part of planning a Europe holiday. From finding an appointment to preparing financial documents, travel insurance and a detailed itinerary, there is plenty to keep track of before the trip can even begin. However, the chances of getting a visa can vary from one Schengen country to another.

The latest European Commission data for 2025 shows that some countries recorded considerably lower rejection rates for Indian applicants than others. India remained one of the biggest sources of Schengen visa applications, with more than 1.15 million applications submitted in 2025. Overall, more than 181,000 applications from Indians were not issued a visa.

If you’re dreaming of a European getaway, here are five Schengen countries that recorded relatively high approval rates among Indian applicants in 2025.

5 Countries To Visit For Indians With An Easy Schengen Visa

1. Belgium

Belgium recorded one of the highest approval rates for Indian Schengen visa applicants in 2025. Out of 33,333 applications, 30,434 visas were issued, putting the rejection rate at just 8.7%.

Beyond its visa statistics, Belgium offers plenty for travellers, from Brussels’ grand squares and historic architecture to medieval Bruges and the picturesque streets of Ghent. It can also work well as part of a wider Western European itinerary.

2. Denmark

Denmark was another strong performer, with a rejection rate of around 9.3% among Indian applicants in 2025. The country received 17,038 applications from India and issued 15,451 visas.

For travellers, Denmark offers a mix of colourful waterfronts, historic castles, modern design and Scandinavian culture. Copenhagen is the obvious starting point, while destinations such as Aarhus and Odense offer a quieter side of the country.

3. Germany

Germany combines a relatively high approval rate with one of the largest application volumes from India. In 2025, it received 153,179 applications from Indian travellers and issued 136,674 visas, resulting in a rejection rate of 10.8%.

From Berlin and Munich to the Romantic Road and the Bavarian Alps, Germany has something for different kinds of travellers. Its extensive rail network also makes it convenient to combine several cities in one trip.

Italy remains a favourite among Indian tourists and also recorded a relatively low rejection rate in 2025. Of the 53,423 applications received from Indian applicants, 46,613 visas were issued, translating to a rejection rate of 12.7%.

From Rome’s ancient landmarks and Florence’s art to Venice’s canals and the Amalfi Coast, Italy offers an enormous variety of experiences. It is also an easy country to include in a longer European itinerary.
