Globally-Renowned, Wagamama Is Finally Debuting In India At Mumbai Airport’s International Terminal

Wagamama, the renowned Pan-Asian restaurant chain originating from the United Kingdom, is set to expand its global footprint by entering the Indian market. This move marks a significant milestone in the brand’s international growth strategy.

The Brand Comes To India


Wagamama has grown into a global phenomenon known for its fresh, vibrant Asian cuisine. The menu features a variety of dishes, including ramen, teppanyaki, donburi, and curries, alongside freshly squeezed juices and delectable desserts. In collaboration with Travel Food Services (TFS), Wagamama plans to enter the Indian market to increase its global presence. The first Wagamama restaurant will debut in 2024 at the International Terminal of Mumbai Airport thanks to the partnership. After that, Wagamama will be present in 19 additional countries worldwide.

Wagamama is well-known for its extensive menu that includes dishes like firecracker chicken, chicken katsu curry, and grilled chicken ramen, and is making a big leap with its entrance into India. The brand offers solutions for all types of diets; half of its menu is plant-based. The Indian foodservice market has been witnessing robust growth, driven by urbanization, rising disposable incomes, and a youthful demographic keen on exploring new dining experiences.

Founded in Bloomsbury, London, the restaurant has grown into a global phenomenon known for its fresh, vibrant Asian cuisine inspired primarily by Japanese flavours. The restaurant’s emphasis on communal dining and open kitchens offers a dynamic and engaging dining experience, fostering a sense of connection among diners. Originally known as China Diner, the company has subsequently grown internationally, with restaurants across Europe and the Middle East. Austria, Bahrain, Belgium, Cyprus, Greece, Italy, the Netherlands, Qatar, Spain, and Sweden are among the countries where it has locations.
