Godawan Artisanal Indian Single Malt Whisky, created by Diageo India’s The Good Craft Co., has won two silver prizes at the first-ever 2025 Whisky Wash Awards, continuing its victory run. This win follows the brand’s recognition with three and two stars at the 2025 Superior Taste Awards.
About Godawan Artisanal Indian Single Malt
Godawan is a product of Rajasthan and represents the rich history of Indian single malts. It offers a wide variety of flavours to suit a variety of palates, including Fruity and Spicy, Light and Floral, Rich and Rounded, and Full-bodied and Smoky. This is accomplished by creating a mother liquid that is adaptable enough to appear in all flavour profiles.
Godawan 02 Fruit and Spice has a palate of rich fruit, floral notes, and a hint of roasted coffee beans, while Godawan 01 Rich and Rounded offers notes of dried fruits, caramel, and butteriness akin to baklava. A variety of Indian single malts are available from the brand to suit all tastes.

Godawan Artisanal Indian Single Malt Stands Out Globally
At the Whisky Wash Awards, Godawan 01 Rich and Rounded and Godawan 02 Fruit and Spice, two whisky varieties, received silver prizes. Over 300 expressions were assessed in the first edition, in order to determine which was the best. Being the only Indian single malt whisky to be recognised, Godawan stood out. It solidified its place as a major player in the single malt market worldwide.
Building on this accomplishment, Godawan received additional praise at the 2025 Superior Taste Awards. It is a prestigious certification from the International Taste Institute. This victory is the first time the Taj-only limited edition, which was introduced in July 2024, has received this honour.
The 300 bottles in the limited edition were painstakingly created to honour creativity and devotion. They celebrate the essence of Godawan and the Palaces of Taj. This collection also reflects their shared commitment to sustainability and conservation.
This win follows historic victories in 2024, such as ‘Best Single Malt’ at the International Taste Institute Awards and ‘Single Malt Whisky of the Year’ at the London Spirits Competition. Every honour highlights Godawan’s steadfast commitment to sustainability, innovation, and high quality in whisky production.
