We are constantly reminded of the majestic power nature possesses when we are in close proximity to wildlife. Especially after watching the Oscar-winning Elephant Whisperers, we all wanted to step into that world of wilderness. If you are someone who loves these experiences, would you like to start your day by bathing and feeding elephants? Yes, you can choose to take advantage of this option whenever you want. The Shimoga district of the Indian state of Karnataka is home to the well-known wildlife tourist destination Sakrebyle Elephant Camp. It is one of the few places in India where visitors can observe and interact with elephants in their natural habitat.
Sakrebyle Elephant Camp Is The Ideal Place For Elephant Lovers
Sakrebyle Elephant Camp was established with the aim of providing a safe and natural environment for domesticated elephants. The camp is dedicated to the conservation and welfare of these magnificent creatures. Situated approximately 14 kilometres from the city of Shimoga, this camp is settled amidst lush greenery and scenic landscapes. It is easily accessible by road, making it a popular destination for both domestic and international tourists.
At Sakrebyle Elephant Camp, visitors can witness various activities involving the elephants. Trained mahouts (elephant handlers) guide the elephants to perform tasks like lumber dragging, bathing in the nearby Tunga River, and carrying out other daily chores. Visitors have the opportunity to interact with the elephants up close, giving them a chance to feed the gentle giants and even touch them under the guidance of trained staff.
