PM Modi Set To Inaugurate Agra Metro’s New Priority Stretch

On March 6, 2024, the Prime Minister will introduce the all-new stretch of the Agra Metro. He will inaugurate it through video conference. For the launch of the priority stretch, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Governor Anandiben Patel will be present at the event hosted in Agra.
With this priority corridor, the journey around the city in Uttar Pradesh will be a lot easier as the soon-to-be-launched metro stretch will have stations to famous places. According to a report by The Economic Times, there will be stations to reach Agra Fort and Taj Mahal.
Officials have shared some necessary information about the launch on Monday. According to details shared by them, there will be a total of 5 trains operating and each can carry 700 passengers on board. Starting from 6 AM to 10 PM, the metro trains will provide services 7 days a week.

- The metro will start operating from Taj East Gate to Mankameshwar Temple.
- On this route, the first 3 metro stations are elevated and the next 3 are underground.
- The stations falling on this new Agra Metro stretch are Taj East Gate, Shaheed Captain Shubham Gupta Metro Station, Fatehabad Road MS, Taj Mahal, Agra Fort, and Mankameshwar Temple.
- The ticket price to cover one station is ₹10. The price jumps to ₹20 to travel 2 metro stations. And the ticket costs ₹30 for travelling anywhere between 3 to 6 metro stations.
- There are two corridors in this project of Agra Metro. It is all set to create strong travel connections between famous tourist sites such as Agra Fort, Taj Mahal, and Sikandra and bus stops and railway stations.
