For the first time ever, a direct train will be introduced connecting Bengaluru with the spiritual city of Rishikesh in Uttarakhand. This new service marks the first direct connectivity between Karnataka and Uttarakhand, with halts at major stations.

As per News18 and the official announcement by South Western Railway On X, the Railway Board of India has introduced a new direct train that will connect Bengaluru (Yeshwanthpur) to the city of Rishikesh in Uttarakhand. This will mark the first-ever direct connectivity between Karnataka and Uttarakhand, according to the South Western Railway (SWR). SWR mentioned that this new service will make it easier for tourists from these major cities to travel to Rishikesh. Known for its holiness and spirituality, Rishikesh is also called the ‘yoga capital of the world’ and attracts thousands of tourists from all over the globe.

As per the report, SWR also mentioned that this new route will be helpful for both tourists and pilgrims. With so many retreats now happening in Rishikesh, this direct train from Bengaluru will help people from Karnataka and nearby cities visit the place more conveniently. Moreover, it can also give a boost to tourism in a city that already sees a huge number of visitors every year.
Train Schedule And Major Halts
SWR has also shared that this special train will run only on a few select dates. Train No. 06597 will leave Yeshwantpur at 7:00 am on June 19, June 26, and July 3. It will reach Rishikesh at 10:20 am the following Saturday. For return journeys, Train No. 06598 will depart from Rishikesh at 5:55 pm on 21st June, 28th June, and 5th July. It will reach Yeshwantpur at 7:45 pm on the following Monday.
This special express train will halt at major stations including Yelahanka, Hindupur, Dharmavaram, Anantapur, Dhone, Kurnool City, Kacheguda, Kazipet, Balharshah, Nagpur, Bhopal, Bina, Jhansi, Gwalior, Agra Cantt., Mathura, Delhi, Ghaziabad, Meerut City, Muzaffarnagar, Tapri and Roorkee before finally reaching Haridwar Junction.
