For customer ease and convenience, quick commerce platforms like Blinkit, Zepto, and Swiggy are delivering silver and gold coins within 10 minutes this festive season. While many were thankful for this service, a Blinkit user from Delhi was not a happy camper! According to his claim, he ordered a 1-gram gold coin on Blinkit but was delivered a 0.5-gram one instead! The worst part was that the customer complaint window got closed before he could take the matter forward with the platform.
Blinkit User Was Delivered Wrong Gold Coin On Dhanteras
Got scammed by blinkit
I ordered 1 gm gold coin from blinkit, along with the 1gm silver coin. It was all prepaid. I wasn’t there at home to receive the order, so I gave the otp to my younger brother to get it received. After 20 mins I reached home and saw wrong item was… pic.twitter.com/N15wSfIhpt— Mohit Jain (@MohitJa30046159) October 29, 2024
X (formerly Twitter) user, Mohit Jain shared how he got “scammed by Blinkit” on Dhanteras. According to his post, he had ordered a 1-gram gold and a 10 gm silver coin from the brand Malabar Gold & Diamonds, which was available on Blinkit. For this order, he paid ₹9,253 online. However, he was delivered a 0.5-gram gold coin instead. Since he wasn’t home at the time of delivery, his brother received the order.
Later, when he saw the wrong order, he quickly tried getting in touch with the customer care of Blinkit but, to his horror, the complaint window got closed 20 minutes after the delivery. He even shared screenshots of the customer care chat and the bill showing how he delivered the wrong product. In the post, he mentions that he tried getting in touch with the delivery person and “literally cried while talking to him.” The delivery guy even had pictures of the coin but he couldn’t offer much help.
While Mohit got no help while posting the ordeal on X (formerly Twitter), he later updated that he got a call from Blinkit’s customer support and they were going to return the wrong gold coin. However, it wasn’t mentioned whether he would be getting a refund or an exchange for the coin.

We were also scammed by blinkit. We ordered dry fruits for Diwali gift purpose. All the boxes we received were rotten and infested. When we tried to ask for refund they closed the return window and not responding to emails. We have decided not to use blinkit anymore so should oth

Yes, blinkit is a scam. They delivered used item to me as well. When contacted their customer care which is ofcourse of no use, customer care also refused to accept used items delivered by them. From that point onwards not using blinkit

I had stopped using them atleast couple year back, when they had delivered rotten chicken.
So far I have almost always run into disappointment with almost every delivery platform, except bigbasket and to some extent Amazon fresh. I never had issue with refunds/support on these.— GSV (@blazingBrainz) October 30, 2024
Blinkit very bad experience I too had, switch to instamart or if possible, go to local jwellery shops, avoid blinkit always. When I don’t have any option, then only I opt it with fingers crossed. Actually leadership should also be questioned here @letsblinkit @albinder

GenZ spotted. I mean how you guys are so much confident about online delivery of Gold. I don’t even order toothpaste from blinkit to avoid a 2 month left expiry date.

Why on this earth would anybody buy gold online ? No matter how reliable or big the brand is u just can’t afford any kind of blunder. 👆 u talking about the weight, what if it wasn’t gold at all. Running from pillar to post is all u r left with.
— Anupama Raj (@Anupamavraj) October 29, 2024
I don’t understand why you are ordering gold online that too from blinkit, zomato, etc. It’s GOLD dammit. You’re ready to spend so much to buy it, why are you risking it. Just visit the physical store and buy it.
