Gulab Jamuns For ₹400? This Man Shared The Online Menu Of 2 Gulab Jamuns Costing A Bomb

Ask desis their most beloved mithai and you’d instantly hear gulab jamun. The melt-in-the-mouth sugar-syrup-soaked goodies are really soul-satisfying. And thanks to food delivery apps, you can get gulab jamuns delivered right to your doorstep and enjoy them as a post-meal dessert. However, recently a man shared a photo of an online menu where two gulab jamuns cost a whopping ₹400 but came with an 80 per cent discount. Like, how does this make any sense?

Two Gulab Jamuns Cost ₹400 On Zomato & After Discount, ₹80

Twitterati, Bhupendra who goes by @sbnnarka shared a picture of an online Zomato menu of the restaurant Biryani Brothers. The online menu showed that two pieces of gulab jamun originally cost ₹400. But after an 80 per cent discount it costs ₹80. Similarly, 200g of gajar ka halwa originally costs ₹600. And after a discount of 80 per cent, customers can order it for ₹120.

Bhupendra took to his caption to tag Zomato and draw awareness on the unreasonable prices of gulab jamuns and gajar ka halwa. He states in his caption that two gulab jamuns cost ₹400 and one kg of gajar ka halwa costs ₹3000. He sarcastically asks Netizens if they can even believe how cheap it really is. And then goes on to comment that Zomato is very generous to people living in 2023.

The tweet instantly went viral with 20.2k views and 10 retweets. Netizens took to the comments section to show their utter shock at these crazy gulab jamuns which seem to be more like gold jamuns. One commented that Zomato always does this and advised Bhupendra to visit the restaurant and find the same dish for a much cheaper rate. Another Twitterati, @Mehul_2801 came across a glass of cold coffee costing ₹1000 and after the discount just priced at ₹120.

Yet another Twitterati, @HiralJoshi77 slammed Zomato and said that we foodies are making them millionaires by avoiding cooking at home and ordering food instead. Meanwhile, Zomato reverted back to Bhupendra and asked him to share the restaurant details privately and they will take up his concerns.

Meanwhile, have you ever come across such strange, unreasonable prices on Zomato? What is your opinion on the same?
