Gurleen Pannu Was A Disciplined Kid

Our first stop on this food trail with Gurleen Pannu in Sarojini Nagar was Durga Sweets because there is no better way to start than with a hearty plate of chole bhature. The moment we saw those fluffy bhaturas arrive, we were overjoyed in anticipation of all the flavours we were about to enjoy. While savouring the delicious food, we got to know a lot about Gurleen Pannu’s childhood.

She revealed that as a kid, she was really disciplined. However, she used to sit with the backbenchers in school because of her roll number, which led her to experience the best of both worlds. She was not only serious about her education but also enjoyed every bit of school life with her backbencher friends. While her friends were usually okay with just passing their exams, she was always careful about her grades and wanted to score well. However, she admitted to having a lot of fun with them. She even used to bunk some classes and remembers those days very fondly.

She humorously referred to the course as training for becoming a housewife. Pannu also shared that this is where she found her calling for stand-up comedy. She used to participate in theatre, and one of her friends nudged her to try for an open spot at an open mic for comedy and that’s how it all began.
