Gurugram To Get A New Metro Line
Gurugram Metro Rail Limited (GMRL) is all set to get a new line and it will significantly improve the intracity commute. According to the Times of India, a new 28.5km long corridor with 27 stations will be built in the city. It will connect Millennium City Centre to Cyber City, and will also include a spur from Basai.
GMRL has already started floating tenders for the construction of the first phase of Gurugram Metro from Millennium City Centre to Sector 9. The budget for the first phase of metro construction is about ₹1,286 crore. Reports suggest that GMRL is seeking clearance of 5,800 sqm of land to build 10 new stations as part of the corridor’s phase 1. They have already approached Haryana Shehri Vikas Pradhikaran (HSVP) to get a no-objection certificate and begin construction of the stations.
