Gurugram rain

Torrential rains in Gurugram since Wednesday have brought the city to a standstill. Hundreds of vehicles were left stranded, roads were waterlogged, and now, it turns out, the rainwater even entered people’s homes. A Gurugram resident shared a video that captures waterlogging inside her home near Golf Course Road, an upscale neighbourhood in the city.

Incessant Rains In Gurugram Cause Waterlogging Inside Woman’s Home

Gurugram resident Sanchi Arora took to Instagram to share the inundated state of her home after the city faced hours of relentless rains recently. In the video, you can see rainwater inside her home with various things floating around. She mentioned that after she returned home, her car was half-submerged in water due to waterlogging.

However, what broke her heart was the state of her home, which was inundated with household items adrift. “This is my home. A home I had carefully and lovingly set up after I moved in. Everything that was on the floor—furniture, belongings—was floating, soaked, and destroyed,” she added in the caption.

Calling it emotional damage, she added, “I live near Golf Course Road—the area known for its upscale high-rises like DLF Camellias, where homes are sold for ₹100 crore. But even here, this is the harsh reality of Gurugram.”
