Let’s face it, there’s something magical about tearing into warm, pillowy bread and scooping up smoky baba ghanoush with your favourite people. Enter Hazal, Jeddah’s newest restaurant that does Levantine cuisine with real heart, flavour, and flair.

Hazal Jeddah, A Mediterranean Feast For The Soul

Tucked inside the stylish Atelier La Vie complex, Hazal is the kind of place where Mediterranean dreams come true. It celebrates the soulful flavours of Turkey, Lebanon, Greece, and Egypt, all on one table. But it doesn’t just talk the talk – the kitchen walks it boldly, using locally sourced ingredients and generous helpings of passion.

The brains behind it? KRAIV, the same culinary wizards who gifted Jeddah with Myra, the adored French patisserie. With Hazal, they’ve swapped éclairs for ouzi lamb, and honestly, we’re not mad about it.

Design And Dips That Delight

Step into Hazal and you’re wrapped in a warm Mediterranean hug. The terracotta tiles, lush greenery, and calming pastel walls set a cosy yet classy tone. An open kitchen adds drama to your dinner, while the white oak tree sculpture at the centre quietly reminds you: this place is alive with purpose.

Grab a seat in a comfy booth and start strong with their mezze. Think hummus awarma topped with pine nuts, zesty feta with melon and mint, and the ever-seductive smoky baba ghanoush. Small plates also pack a punch – the prawn casserole sizzles with garlic and paprika, the lamb manti offers melt-in-your-mouth comfort, and the crispy courgette fritters hit every crunchy-creamy note.

Feeling extra? Their mains are the stuff of foodie dreams. The ouzi lamb, slow-cooked with cinnamon and saffron rice, will haunt your tastebuds (in the best way). The cherry kebab with tangy molasses? A bold move, and it works. Sea bream meunière brings coastal class to the menu, and let’s not forget dessert: the kunafeh with pistachio and ice cream deserves its own fan club.

More Than Just A Meal

But Hazal doesn’t just feed your belly, it feeds your soul. On weekends, it opens early for breakfast with gems like Turkish eggs in Aleppo pepper butter and fluffy French toast topped with kaymak, cherry, and nut crumble. Perfect for lazy Friday mornings or a Saturday brunch date. The outdoor terrace makes for the perfect wind-down spot, too. Order a hookah, lean back, and let the fragrant clouds do the talking. It’s all about slow living, warm plates, and even warmer vibes.

Whether you’re catching up with mates, planning date night, or just hungry for something special, Hazal delivers. It’s homegrown, heart-warming, and full of life, just like a true Mediterranean table should be.
