According to a post of
@AtmosphereCreepy on Reddit, shared last night, the woman, who lives alone in a well-guarded apartment complex, placed an order through Instamart, Swiggy’s fast grocery delivery service. As with all her deliveries, she selected the “leave at door” and “don’t ring bell” options, so she wouldn’t have to interact with the delivery agents personally.

However, the delivery did not go as expected. The Swiggy deliveryman not only rang the bell but also did not leave the package at her door. He continued standing outside with her order, forcing the woman to open the door to get her package eventually. She mentioned that the man kept staring at her in a way that made her feel extremely uncomfortable. He then walked away toward the lift, only to return moments later.

The Swiggy delivery partner began ringing the doorbell again repeatedly, insisting he needed to take a photo of the package. The woman felt uneasy, as Instamart’s delivery policy does not require photos after delivery, which was later confirmed by a customer care executive as well. Despite her discomfort, she opened the door again to let him take the photo. But, instead of taking a photo of the order, the delivery agent allegedly pointed his phone at her and began clicking photos of her discreetly. Shocked and in panic, the woman slammed the door shut on his face.

Redditors Advise Woman On Next Steps To Tackle Issue

The Reddit post mentioned that the woman had access to the delivery guy’s name and phone number. The post ended with the woman asking users for advice on what steps to take next. The incident wasn’t taken lightly. Many users responded with concern and practical advice. One of the users on the post commented, “Hey, contact Swiggy, this sounds creepy. I’m sure they will take action.”. While another user advised her against this and stated, “Swiggy will not take appropriate action. You should file an online FIR with the relevant details of the delivery agent. Also, if by any chance you have his picture from the app, share it along with details on social media”.

If this story is true, then swift and strict action needs to be taken.
