The Hebbal flyover is a key arterial route for many commuters. Because of the Hebbal flyover infrastructure work and the Bengaluru Metro rail work, traffic flow at the flyover is slow during peak hours. As a result, vehicles heading to the airport cannot arrive on time. Therefore, it is recommended that vehicles departing for the airport arrive at least two hours in advance of a scheduled flight. Bangalore traffic police advise this.

The Bengaluru Development Authority’s expansion of the flyover arm on the approach from K R Puram to Hebbal and the area surrounding the Hebbal police station are among the infrastructure projects mentioned by the traffic police. Other projects include the Bengaluru Metro rail works, which will run from Kempapura Cross to Hebbal junction, as well as at Kodigehalli and Byatarayanapura junctions.

Traffic congestion around the Hebbal flyover has multiple implications. For airport-bound travellers, the delays can be particularly stressful. The advisory from the Bengaluru Traffic Police comes as a response to these persistent traffic jams. By urging travellers to leave at least two hours earlier than usual, the police aim to mitigate the risk of travellers missing their flights due to unforeseen delays.
