His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Ruler of Dubai announced a new policy granting paid leave to government employees. The move is part of UAE’s precautionary measures to prevent the spread of Covid 19. According to the new move, married employees of the federal government can take fully paid leave. However, the age condition does not apply to people of determination. As well as in cases where the Health Ministry has directed self-isolation or quarantine.
The new move is also applicable to employees whose spouses work in vital sectors like- doctors, nurses, paramedics, or other medical professions and quarantine centers, where there are chances of exposure with infected people. In accordance with the resolution, the ministry may also permit employees holding critical designations to work from home. The new decision comes in line with the UAE’s interest to support employees with safe and hygienic work environment.

In other news, HH Sheikh Mohammed has canceled fines for residence visa holders until the end of the year.
In addition, HH also announced the decision to reinforce the nation’s strategic stockpile and directs factories to support the needs of the health sector in the country. Further updates on the same are awaited.
