HH Sheikh Mohammed Honours Emirati Teacher Who Won Hearts Through Viral Video

Teachers play a critical role in our lives and it looks like the UAE is blessed with the best! His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, honored one such teachers with a Prime Ministers Medal on Sunday.

“Today I chaired a UAE Cabinet meeting and one of the first clauses is the honouring of Sheikha Al Nuaimi and her mother,” said Sheikh Mohammed on Twitter.

Earlier last week, HH Sheikh Mohammed was inspired by one of the videos of a teacher that went viral on Twitter. In the video, the teacher was seen greeting her students with love. Inspired by the video, HH Sheikh Mohammed shared a sweet message on Twitter:

“A beginning of a school day in UAE, the beginning is different when a teacher has a beautiful soul, says good words, shows an honest smile, spreads optimism and true positivity among her students. Can someone identify her? We are looking for her,” Sheikh Mohammed tweeted.

In the video, the teacher is seen welcoming the kids with optimistic words and a warm hug. This, for sure is a gesture which is not common in most schools. Thankfully, netizens were able to identify her in a few hours. The teacher was found to be a social worker- Ms Al Nuaimi , who works in Al Ain’s Aliya School.

Ms Al Nuaimi soon became a social media sensation. On Sunday, Sheikh Mohammad shared a video of his meeting with the teacher and her mother. “I will give you the medal first because you are the one who raised her,” he said to Ms Al Nuaimi’s mother, draping the medal over her head.

Ms Al Nuaimi thanked Sheikh Mohammed and said students were their responsibility and they had to take care of them.
