Heavy rainfall in Himachal Pradesh has brought the state to a standstill. Since Wednesday, the state has witnessed torrential rain which caused flash floods in various areas. Building Collapses In Manikaran, Kullu After Cloudburst

Since Wednesday, North India has been witnessing heavy downpours with various areas of Himachal Pradesh experiencing flood-like situations. This morning, a building in Kullu collapsed and was washed away by the fierce currents of the Parvati River. The now-viral video captured a building in the Sabzi Mandi area of Manikaran, Kullu collapsing. It is still unknown if there were people inside the building or not.

The video shows a massive building being washed away in a matter of seconds due to a cloudburst in the Kullu district. This comes a day after a footbridge and three makeshift sheds were washed away following a flash flood in the Tosh Nallah area of Kullu. Thankfully, no casualties were reported in that incident.

The Kullu administration has requested people to stay away from rivers and low-lying areas for the time being as the weather in the state can be life-threatening right now. All construction activity has also been halted due to the monsoon season and strict action would be taken against anyone defying these rules.

Cloudburst In Kedarnath Triggers Landslides

Similar to Kullu’s cloudburst, another cloudburst was reported in Uttarakhand’s Kedarnath on Wednesday. According to an India Today report, the cloudburst triggered a landslide in Kedarnath and nearly 200 pilgrims have been left stranded in the area. The authorities have now issued a high alert in the area.

As per the reports, the cloudburst led to a landslide in the Bhim Bali stream along the Kedarnath walkway. This has also damaged the walkway on the route which has been temporarily closed due to safety reasons. Thankfully, no casualties were reported in this area. The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), police, and local officials have advised pilgrims coming to the shrine to put their yatra on hold and stay put in safe places.

Please stay safe and avoid stepping out unless absolutely necessary if you’re in a high-risk area during the monsoon season, especially in mountainous regions.
