We’re not ready to let go of the holiday feels just yet. So what if Himachal is on orange alert, buried under snow and landslides. Travel never stops. We have found al the places we never go to because Himachal’s appeal. This is our time to give a break to Delhi’s first love and go to place for something new in the new year. Check out these offbeat hill stations that are not in Himachal Pradesh.

1. Abbott Mount

This little hamlet is the base camp for the Mahaseer fishing in Pancheshwar, the meeting point of two rivers, Saryu and Mahakali. This tiny town is set at 6,400 feet above ground. It’s perfect for a mellow solo trip with lots of me time and no distractions. The view from the Gangotri cliff to Dhaulagiri range will keep you busy enough.

2. Chakrata

This secret hill station is 90 km from the famous Dehradun. It’s a paradise for those looking for solace. Chakrata is 2,118 meters high in the sky for breathtaking views whichever way you look. It’s the perfect site for trekking, climbing and skiing! Adventure crazies must head here for the watersports and impromptu dips in waterfalls.

3. Kanatal

Kodia Jungle is just one kilometer away from Kanatal. You can walk in the dense forest or take a jeep to spot some wild hilly animals. The Tehri Dam is also nearby for a short visit. The best part is all the natural springs calling out to passersby. Kanatal is nestled between Chamba and Mussoorie making it the perfect balance between the two.

4. Munsiyari

This is the eastern most district in the hilly lands of Uttarakhand. It’s bordering Tibet making way for a beautiful mix of culture. It serves as base for Milam and Ralam Glaciers and Nanda Devi peak treks. It’s a growing tourist destination so make the trip as soon as possible to preserve the purity in your memories forever.

5. Pangot

This cute village near Nainital is all about the greenery. Bird watching is an extremely popular and successful engagement in this part of town. You can conquer Naina Peak while you’re there. Kilbury and Snow View Point are must visit vantage points for that perfect insta feed. People head to this charming town on a whim of wanderlust and return with more peace than a thousand weekends in Delhi could give.

6. Uttarkashi

This beautiful hill station is also called Devbhumi, the land of the gods, and it truly is. Lord Vishwanath’s iconic temple is one of many religious spots in the town. Indian culture and heritage are rich in every corner of Uttarkashi. Yamunotri, the source of the Yamuna is only 30 km from here, a very popular tourist site. The most alluring attraction remains the hot water springs in the region of Gangnani.

7. Morni Hills

This is the perfect getaway for Delhiites. This is the only hill station in Haryana and that’s not the only reason why it’s special. The Morni Fort and Shiva Temple are two of the main attractions. There is also an adventure park here safe for amateurs with ziplining, Burma bridge and climbing nets. Morni Hills also has 2 manmade lakes 7 km away in Tikkar Taal.

8. Mount Abu

This humble hill station is not famous enough. It is the only hill station in the entire state of Rajasthan. Boating in Nakki Lake, chilling at Sunset Point and romancing at Honeymoon Point, there’s room for everything at this tiny bombshell. The Dilwara temples are insanely famous for a glance at unique architecture. The Mt Abu Wildlife Sanctuary will fulfil your adventure needs so you can come back and have tea with the Aravallis.
