Staycation has become the new lingo for vacations in 2020. With New Year’s around the corner, the demand for taking a staycation has increased in the UAE. And with increased demand, the prices of the hotels in the country have increased too. Hotels offering a stellar view of Burj Khalif are now some of the priciest hotels in the UAE.

Hotels See A Massive Price Dip After New Year’s Eve Celebrations

The W Abu Dhabi hotel in Yas Marina, which lets you enjoy the view of the capital’s fireworks displays is now priced at AED 880 on December 31. Whereas, if you book the same room a week later, the price will drop to AED 540 per night. That’s not it! The Address Dubai Mall Hotel costs AED 11,200 for a minimum two-night stay from December 30 to January 1. And you will be shocked to know that a week later, you can get the same for AED 1,469 per night.

While we thought that this year keeping the situation in mind, the rooms and deals would be cheaper in comparison to last year, however, that’s certainly not the case. On this, Tareq Aboudib, general manager of the Sandy Beach Hotel and Resort in Fujairah, said to a leading daily,

“The time between Christmas and New Year is typically the busiest season for hotels and this year is no different. On New Year’s we are fully booked. This is a time where people tend to come together with different friends and family members and celebrate in a more outgoing fashion.”

The Hotels And Homestays Have Increased Their Price By 30 To 50 Per Cent Keeping The Holiday Season In Mind

Speaking about the staycation trend, he added,

“Staycations were, unsurprisingly, in-demand this year because of limitations on travel. People want to get away, even if it’s within the Emirates.”

For the hotels, a lot of hotels and vacation homeowners are going for 30 to 50 per cent increase in prices for New Year’s Eve. Well, if you still haven’t taken that staycation, we consider you check the rates well in advance before booking anything.
