In the heart of Dubai, amidst the city’s glittering skyscrapers, a villa garage hides a fiery secret. Shelves stacked with bottles of vibrant reds, zesty greens, and tangy oranges stand as proof of Faisal Al Mutairi’s passion for spice. Dubbed the “chief chilli officer,” Al Mutairi has transformed his obsession with hot sauces into a full-fledged venture: House of Habanero and now it’s available in Dubai and other Emirates of UAE.
From Tabasco To Tears, House Of Habanero Now Open In Dubai
The heat at House of Habanero isn’t just about burning your taste buds, it’s about enhancing your culinary experience. Among the selection, you’ll find sauces like Dawson’s Original, famously featured on the YouTube show Hot Ones. With a Scoville rating of 620,000, it’s not for the faint-hearted. For comparison, Tabasco barely touches the 50,000 mark on the same scale.
“Over nine months, I’ve tried hundreds of hot sauces,” he shared in an interview with The National. With over 800 samples in his tasting fridge, Al Mutairi has meticulously curated a selection that’s as diverse as it is daring. Starting with 35 products in September, House of Habanero plans to offer more than 100 fiery delights by mid-December, including sauces, chilli crunches, and even unconventional condiments featuring exotic ingredients like green ants.
Al Mutairi emphasises “flavour over fire,” aiming to broaden palates while introducing the UAE to artisanal products typically hard to find locally. From blueberry-infused sauces to creations with macadamia nuts and papaya, each bottle tells a story. His goal? To help food lovers in the Emirates explore the “depth of the chilli scene.”
Local Meets Global
While most products are imported, Al Mutairi proudly supports home-grown brands like Camp’s Kitchen and Jinxy’s. This balance of global flavours and local innovation reflects Dubai’s melting-pot culture. His attention to detail doesn’t stop there, each product comes with pairing suggestions and flavour profiles to elevate meals effortlessly.
The sauces are priced between AED 27 and AED 100, catering to both casual enthusiasts and die-hard chilli aficionados. And the venture doesn’t stop at sauces. Al Mutairi has hinted at exciting additions like spicy peanut butter, hot honey, and his own signature hot sauce recipe.
The buzz around the House of Habanero is already palpable. Al Mutairi revealed that enthusiastic responses from the UAE’s chilli community have fueled plans for a tasting room and listings on popular delivery platforms like InstaShop. In his interview with The National, he said, “People here love spice, but many haven’t explored the variety available globally.”
By bridging this gap, House of Habanero isn’t just selling sauces—it’s igniting a movement. From fans of mild tang to thrill-seekers chasing the ultimate burn, there’s something for everyone in this spicy haven.
Where Spice Meets Style
Dubai’s House of Habanero isn’t just about condiments, it’s about culture, community, and culinary exploration. With a product range that spans the globe and a commitment to supporting local talent, Faisal Al Mutairi has created more than a business; he’s built a fiery hub for food lovers. So, whether you’re a seasoned chilli connoisseur or a curious first-timer, it’s time to turn up the heat.
Because when it comes to flavour, House of Habanero isn’t just spicing things up, it’s redefining what spice can be.
