Housed In A 1920s Heritage House, This New Kolkata Coffee Shop Will Transport You To Old City

A new cafe is coming up every other day in different corners of Kolkata. In between the huge number of new cafes and coffee shops opening in the city, we often get confused about which places to explore and which to skip. Well, you can decide the one that you want to skip but I am here to recommend a must-visit new coffee shop located in the City of Joy. Being a GenZ, I have not gotten the opportunity to explore the old charm of Calcutta but The Red Bari is here to take us on a journey to the past and immerse us in its simplicity.

The Red Bari Is Kolkata’s Newest Coffee Shop & Already A Favourite Of Many

Taking to Instagram, The Red Bari Kolkata (@theredbarikolkata) shared some beautiful glimpses of this new place.

Nestled in Kalighat, this coffee shop is a new establishment in the city. The Red Bari might be a new place but the property inside which the cafe is constructed is not new at all. The cafe is built inside a heritage house from the 1920s. Imagine sitting in a property that is almost a century old, witnessing spectacular views, relishing good food, and enjoying an amazing time. Well, you can experience everything right here at South Kolkata’s The Red Bari.

The exteriors are painted red just like the decades and century-old houses of the City of Joy. Once you enter inside, you are going to be transported to a new world; a perfect blend of both old Kolkata and today’s modern city. Each and every minimalist corner of the coffee house is elegantly designed. Whereas the tables, chairs, and corners have modern touches, the doors, windows, and exteriors reflect spectacular old-school vibes. It feels like sitting inside the 1920s heritage house and travelling back in time, long back.

Each wall of the coffee house sparks a beautiful vibe and there are simply not enough words to describe how aesthetic the place is. Though it is too difficult to find only one favourite thing about The Red Bari, the one part that has my attention is the green windows on the exterior of the property. It looks like North Kolkata and reflects that long-lost charm in between the hustle and bustle of South Kolkata.

What’s On The Menu?

The coffee shop inside the heritage house has a great menu of finger-licking dishes as well. From scrumptious sandwiches to delish desserts, there are so many options to choose from. If you are a coffee aficionado, get ready for a great time. The coffee options served here are just too yum to resist.

The Red Bari is the best example of the most beautiful blend of North Kolkata and South Kolkata. The aesthetics of North Kolkata’s property and South Kolkata’s bustle and busy city life come together at this coffee house. So when are you planning to explore this place?
