“My Family’s Support Keeps Me Going”

In a candid chat with Curly Tales, South actress Pranitha Subhash opened up about balancing work and family, crediting her husband and extended family for their unwavering support. “My family is very supportive, especially my husband. He really likes that I go to work and that I’m happy, and that gives me a nice energy,” she shared. With her parents and mother-in-law managing things at home, Pranitha finds it easier to juggle both worlds.

The conversation took a sweet turn as they stopped by Bangalore’s iconic Corner House for a nostalgia-filled treat. “We can’t end the day without a DBC!” she exclaimed, reminiscing about childhood visits to the legendary Death by Chocolate. Despite maintaining a balanced diet for the industry, she admitted, “Corner House chocolate? No way I’m skipping that!” When it comes to guilty pleasures at home, her love for chocolate reigns supreme—be it brownies, ice cream, or even chocolate barfi. She also professed her love for traditional Indian sweets, from Agra ka Petha to Dharwad Peda, making it clear that indulgence is always on the menu.

The South actress also shared the challenges she faced while pursuing her acting career, coming from a family of doctors. When asked how acting became a completely different path for her, Pranitha explained that she had to work hard to convince her parents to let her try something outside the conventional medical field.

She reflected on how, in the past, parents were often set on their children following traditional careers like medicine or engineering, and the idea of exploring unconventional careers such as influencing or acting was not widely accepted. As she put it, “I had to really convince them that I wanted to try out something different.”

However, Pranitha acknowledged the changing mindset today, where parents are more open to letting their children explore diverse career options, especially in creative fields.
