Recently, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Ministry of Hajj and Umrah relayed that in order to obtain a permit to visit and pray at Al Rawda Al Sharifa, one has to apply for a mandatory official permit. Applying for this permit is quite easy for Muslim worshippers according to the Gulf News. It was explained that to apply for this permit, one will have to follow a few steps on the app. Yes, they will have to first create an account, register, and then choose the ‘pray at the Al Rawda Al Sharifa’ icon and specify the individuals. After this, they will have to mention the date and time of the visit and skim through all the information provided before approving it and tapping on the continue button. After this, they can get a permit.

As it happens, people have repeatedly been urged by the Saudi authorities to make prior reservations before arriving at the sacred site. They have also been asked to show up at the fixed appointment time. This development comes at a time when the kingdom expects nearly 10 million Muslims from around the world to make the Umrah pilgrimage during the season. For those who aren’t aware, this is the second holiest site in Medina. Yes, it’s where the tomb of Prophet Muhammad is located.
