Hyderabad’s vibrant food scene, known for its rich and diverse flavours, has long been a haven for food lovers. Adding to the city’s gastronomic landscape is the arrival of Nando’s, the international chain famous for its PERi-PERi chicken.
Nando’s Brings PERi-PERi Flavours To Hyderabad
For Hyderabadi food enthusiasts and spice lovers alike, Nando’s introduction to the city marks a meeting point of global cuisine and local flavour appreciation. Nando’s story began in South Africa where the founders discovered the magic of PERi-PERi, a fiery and tangy spice made from African Bird’s Eye chilli.
The Hyderabad outlet’s centrepiece and essence is PERi-PERi, prepared using African Bird’s Eye Chilli. Fresh ingredients are used for sauces, bastings, and marinades; no artificial flavours or colourings are added. The dish is flame-grilled to lower the fat content. At the same time, it stays succulent with regular basting. Final basting with PERi-PERi allows for customisation to the customer’s desired degree of heat.
Nando’s adds yet another layer to the city’s diverse cuisine, blending global traditions with local sensibilities. The PERi-PERi adds a burst of fiery flavour that complements the city’s preference for heat, embodied in dishes like biryani and mirchi ka salan.
Nando’s latest Casa at RMZ Nexity opens in Hyderabad’s Hitech City. Original, modern furnishings and artwork from South Africa are included in the restaurant. There will be almost 74 seats available for dine-in patrons at the 2088 square foot Nando’s.

A Global Food Trend Takes Root in Hyderabad
Nando’s expansion into Hyderabad is also part of a larger trend where global food chains are recognising the potential of Tier 1 and Tier 2 Indian cities. Hyderabad, in particular, has emerged as a hotspot for food innovation. The city’s dynamic population, which includes tech professionals, students, and a growing expatriate community, is hungry for new dining experiences. As more international brands find a place in Hyderabad, the local dining landscape is becoming more varied.
While Nando’s might be known for its global success, its entry into Hyderabad feels like a celebration of both local and international culinary traditions. Hyderabadis are adventurous eaters, open to exploring new flavours, and the PERi-PERi craze is likely to catch on quickly.
