Road traffic in India is a feeling of discomfort felt by almost every citizen of this country. With narrow roads and 24/7 construction work, the traffic almost always seems never-ending. But coming with some good news for the people of Hyderabad, the Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) has announced THIS decision to ease the congestion caused due to the construction of the metro station.
Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited Announces Road Widening
On July 16, the Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) stated that it started preliminary work for the renowned metro rail project in the Old Metro City. All stations on the MGBS-Falaknuma stretch of Corridor-II will have 120-feet wide roads, as reported by Times Of India.
The decision came to effect after taking into account the road congestion and traffic jams that were happening due to the implementation of phase-1. Subsequently, HMRL officials plan to notify 1,000 houses next month for land acquisition to finalize the remaining work on the metro line in the ancient city.

Out of the required lands, 103 religious and other important buildings are also part of the stretch. These include 21 masjids, 12 Ashoorkhanas, 33 dargahs, 12 temples, 7 cemeteries, and 6 chillas, as per reports by India Herald.
Road Congestion In The City To Ease Up
The report also stated that a few of the religious structures that were in the Hyderabad Metro’s radar were also preserved due to certain engineering measures. Like adjusting the curve, and appropriately changing the positions of metro pillars and viaduct design and heights, among others.
Preparation for individual sketches for over 1,000 of these structures has started and is already underway by the HMRL, stated a report by Times Of India.
The metro development in India is without a doubt one of the most beneficial public transport that is most awaited. But while we await the transport marvel to pop up, the ongoing traffic caused due to the construction of these stations has everyone worried.
