We got an insight into the life of the Fabulous Lives vs Bollywood Wives star Shalini Passi in a recent episode of Sunday Brunch. In the exclusive tête-à-tête with our editor-in-chief, Kamiya Jani, she talked about how she grew up in a conservative family and she had to adopt an unapproachable persona to survive and keep people at an arm’s distance.

We see Shalini Passi on screen and we see an eclectic person who is hard not to love, yes we went straight to stage four of knowing her! She is open to trying new things, does what her heart wants, and has one of the most affable personalities you would come across, especially on social media. So, when we got into a chat with her during Sunday Brunch, we found yet another layer of her personality that will make you admire her even more.

Talking about her family, she candidly confessed that her parents were quite conservative. She mentions that her parents were strict and there were a lot of restrictions imposed on her while growing up. She was not allowed to socialise and her outings were restricted to her schools and other classes. So, when she entered the society, she had to “create a persona to keep everybody away.” She talked about how she liked being there for her friends but having an “unapproachable” personality helped her survive in her early days.

Shares How She Likes To Keep A Certain Distance From People

When we asked her to elaborate on this philosophy of hers, she said that she did not like or wanted to be approachable by a lot of people. She believes that when you allow people to come close, they either “try to hurt you or use you.” Shalini Passi revealed that she is open, playful, casual, and childlike with her friends. However, for everyone else, there is a wall created in her personality that helps her screen people from her life.

She confessed that she has been hurt a lot in life and this mechanism helps her. According to her, she is not rude to anyone and people are actually afraid to come up to her (because of her personality), and she likes it that way. She shared a funny story about how while trying to get a drink at a crowded party, her son’s friend said to him, “You know if your mom was here, the crowd would have parted.”
