We explored the gullies of Indiranagar in Namma Bengaluru with the Internet sensation Rida Tharana. And where better to treat her taste buds than our restaurant Imlee – The Chaat Gully? Over plates of Kolkata’s tangy puchka, Mumbai’s butter pav bhaji, Indore’s chatpata singhada and more, we discussed Rida’s food and travel preferences, her marriage plans and much more. She also threw light on her love for solo travel.

Rida Tharana Tells Us About Her 1st Solo International Trip To Bali

At Bengaluru’s Mayalsian coffee house Kopitiam Lah, while sipping artisanal coffees, Rida shared anecdotes about her first-ever international trip which eventually turned into a solo trip. Rida Tharan’s first solo trip was to Bali. She travelled to the island destination with her friend Elton, who was with her for just two days. However, the influencer wanted to extend her stay and explore the place. “So, I was forced to do this solo since he had to leave,” she shares.

Rida says gleefully, “It was the best 5 days of my life.” She believes if one can do a solo trip in India then they can survive anywhere else in the world. This is because she believes that India is a diverse country which can often pose challenges to travellers. One needs to navigate fluctuating weather, diverse cultures, train schedules and much more in India during solo trips. “If you can survive India, you can survive anywhere. I’m an Indian, so, I can survive anywhere”, says Rida Tharana.

We Enjoyed Kaya Toast & Coffees With Us

Later, we relished Kopitiam Lah’s famous Kaya Toast which Rida Tharana calls her “nasha” (addiction). The crisp bread, melt-in-the-mouth coconutty flavours really won us over. It was worth the hype and how! We also didn’t miss out on the opportunity to play fun games with Rida and ask her for recommendations in her hometown, Coorg. Moreover, she revealed how she juggles her social media presence with her self-care routine.
